Inspiring Days in a Breathtaking Location

Amazing location, absolutely astounding landscape. And such a cute cottage.Heads up that it might be a bit tricky to find if you arrive after dark like we did,and note that the cottage does not have any natural light as there are no windows.But we hade a couple of inspiring days in Chão da Ribeira and we'd love to come back some day.

A Perfect Retreat After a Day of Hiking

Lovely place to come back to after a hike. Had everything we could need and a lovely restaurant just 3 mins walk away.Monica is a tremendous host and was always communicative and quick to respond to any enquiry. Would happily stay again.

Wonderful stay in charming Seixal!

Our stay in Seixal was amazing from start to finish. The accommodation was spotless, tastefully decorated, and equipped with all the comforts you could need. We felt at home right away.The location is perfect for anyone looking for peace, nature, and stunning hikes nearby. Think lush mountains, waterfalls, and scenic viewpoints all within walking distance. At the same time, you’re not far from a few cozy restaurants and the beautiful natural swimming pools.Would absolutely recommend this place and hope to return someday!

Quite and beautiful

It was a dream spending our holiday in this house. The communication was fast, easy and friendly, the house is clean and the view is outstanding.

Super séjour en montagne

Casa Hernani nous a servi de camp de base pour visiter le nord-ouest de l’île et profiter des nombreux treks autour. Situé idéalement à 6-7 minutes de Seixal, c’est un endroit paisible, intime et agréable à séjourner pour plusieurs nuitées! Merci à Monica qui est super réactive à nos demandes et questions. Je recommande!

Beautiful scenery and cozy retreat

Wonderful stay! The scenery is just beautiful. The place was very cozy, great to come back to and relax after hikes. We also appreciated that Monica made communication so easy and gave great tips for local areas to check out. We would definitely stay again!

This mountain stay was everything we hoped for—impeccably clean, cozy, and brimming with romantic charm. The secluded location offered the ideal getaway, far from the bustle, with a sense of privacy that only a rented house can provide. For the price, it’s a fantastic value, and we’d recommend it to anyone seeking peace and a touch of rustic romance. Perfect communication with tips where to go or having lunch. Cozy mornings with waterfalls

Our stay here exceeded all expectations! The beautiful, peaceful surroundings were absolutely stunning. Nestled in the mountains, we woke up to misty mornings, waterfalls and stunning views all around. The home itself had a cozy, welcoming feel – clean and thoughtfully decorated. One of the highlights was the outdoor space. The bbq grill and seating area were a real treat, allowing us to enjoy meals with a backdrop of nature. The host was incredibly responsive and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. We especially appreciated the detailed booklet provided, which included all the information we could ask for, plus great recommendations for local attractions and restaurants. Overall, this was a perfect getaway, and we would love to return. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quiet, rejuvenating escape.

A beautiful hidden gem

High above the village of Seixal stands Casa Hernani. The road there is breathtakingly beautiful. It's useful to have your own car, because you need it for every trip. The house itself is modernly furnished and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The peace you experience when you sit behind the house is fantastic. You really feel like you are completely alone. The outdoor area is ideal for making Espetada over the fire. We slept wonderfully and really relaxed this week.

A mystical modern house in the mountains. 10/10!

Great location! Modern interior! Sadly didn’t get to test out the barbeque as we spent too much time exploring the area but the outside seating area was really nice for breakfast. Nespresso machine was great too! And the bed was super comfy. Stars at night were really cool too, a nice escape from the business of Funchal.
